Specialized Tech Inc. (STI) is dedicated to providing high pressure sand recovery services. We help gas well operators save money and keep their wells operating no matter how challenging the conditions.
Calgary-based STI, which has provided gas well desanding services since 2001, is the only Canadian service company that provides gas well de-sanding as its exclusive service. STI's compact de-sander, designed for gas wells producing frac sand and formation sand, allows gas wells to be flowed under sand-producing conditions that would otherwise damage production equipment. STI installs its patented de-sander upstream from customers' surface equipment to remove sand and other particulates such as asphalts and free precipitates, from natural gas and liquid streams.
STI's de-sander works by changing the flow parameters. The unit reduces the gas velocity to the point where the sand drops out, while gas, and fluids are carried through.
STI's technology works under a broad range of conditions, and does not require any special metallurgy or filtration. For that reason STI's equipment can go places that other de-sanders can't. Because STI's unit is positioned as close as possible to the wellhead, sitting between the wellhead and the operator's equipment, it can handle slug flow, and other adverse situations. For instance, in the case of new wells, it allows for some flexibility before while operators complete testing.
